The Principal Mining Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining long-term mine plans that support the company’s strategic and operational objectives. The role ensures alignment across long, mid, and short-term planning horizons while integrating technical, operational, infrastructure, and economic inputs to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable mining outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimisation of Life of Mine plans, production schedules, and infrastructure requirements.
- Coordinate quarterly and mid-term planning activities across technical and operational teams.
- Monitor and update mine plans based on operational performance and business priorities.
- Conduct scenario analysis and trade-off studies to support operational and investment decisions.
- Develop and maintain mine planning standards, systems, and engineering procedures.
- Support safe and efficient mining operations through effective planning and risk management.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering best practices.
- Build strong working relationships across site and corporate teams to support integrated planning and operational delivery.
- Mentor and develop engineering personnel while promoting a strong safety culture.
