Purpose of Role
Responsible for the design, integrity, and enablement of technology platforms supporting data, integration, development, and innovation for internal operations and external customer experiences. Leads internal engineering, oversees outsourced technical partners, defines architectural standards, and governs technical execution across enterprise systems. Ensures all development (internal or vendor-led) aligns to architecture, platform strategy, and security. Enables scalable design, reusable integration, and secure solutions. Leads adoption of AI, low-code automation, and advanced analytics. Acts as key design authority.

Operational Excellence – Drive Technical Integrity, Reliability, Alignment: Define/maintain architectural principles, reference models, design standards. Govern solution design via architecture review. Lead internal development/data teams. Introduce/scale AI-enabled development for code quality, velocity, testing, documentation. Guide integration patterns and shared services. Oversee outsourced vendors for quality, security, architectural adherence. Promote DevOps (CI/CD, version control, testing, release discipline). Oversee third-party platforms (ERP, POS, WMS, CRM) for compliance with architecture, documentation, supportability. Own enterprise data environment (data pipelines, lakes, semantic models, warehouse). Oversee ETL/ELT performance, data quality, resilience. Ensure DevOps practices (backlog management, sizing, sprint alignment, transparent delivery). Collaborate with delivery/reporting teams for governed data structures. Align with operations and cybersecurity. Provide senior technical escalation for design, integration, performance, production issues.

Grow the Business – Enable Innovation & Platform Evolution: Explore emerging tech (AI, automation, low-code). Success Profile
Work Experience – Essential: Proven experience leading architecture, engineering, data, or platform teams across enterprise environments. Demonstrated technical governance across application and data platforms. Track record overseeing internal teams and managing outsourced vendors. Background managing integration/data flows across complex, multi-system landscapes. Experience influencing technical design across business and customer-facing digital platforms. Experience in agile/hybrid delivery (sprints, backlog, architecture alignment).
Work Experience – Desirable: Enabling emerging tech (AI, low-code, cloud-native). Retail/consumer-facing industry exposure. Shaping enterprise data environments or modernising platform strategies.
Qualifications – Essential: Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Technical Skills – Essential: Enterprise data platforms (data lakes, warehouses, pipelines, semantic models). Architecture governance, integration patterns, platform alignment.
