The MDM Manager will own and govern all Item/Product Master Data processes and systems. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of master data while driving governance strategy and operational excellence.

You will lead a team of Data Stewards, manage day-to-day data workflows, and serve as the final authority on data approvals. This role partners cross-functionally to strengthen data governance frameworks and support critical business operations.


Key Responsibilities:

Data Governance & Oversight

  • Serve as the final approver for new product item requests and data changes
  • Ensure adherence to data governance policies and business rules
  • Maintain accountability for the accuracy, consistency, and quality of item master data
  • Act as the escalation point for complex data issues and exceptions

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Stewards
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and SLA adherence

Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with IT, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales teams to align data practices with business needs
  • Develop and enhance data governance standards and frameworks
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across data quality, processes, and documentation
  • Define and track KPIs related to data quality and operational performance

Tools, Systems & Reporting

  • Support the development of dashboards and reporting tools to monitor data quality and team performance
  • Ensure effective use of MDM and ERP systems to enforce governance standards
  • Contribute to enhancements in data management tools and processes

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Quality
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing data-focused teams
  • Experience working with item/product master data in ERP or MDM platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Informatica, Stibo)

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of MDM principles and best practices
  • Experience with SQL or similar data querying tools
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Understanding of how master data impacts downstream systems (Inventory, Purchasing, Finance, POS)
