Role Overview
We are looking for a Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of Digit’s enterprise-wide data strategy. This role will be responsible for building scalable data models, managing data warehouses, and enabling advanced analytics capabilities across the organization. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, hands-on experience, and a strategic mindset to drive data excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Architecture
- Define and implement the organizational data strategy aligned with business processes.
- Design data models and database development standards to support scalable analytics solutions.
- Lead the development of an enterprise Data Warehouse as a single source of truth for internal and external data.
Data Management & Integration
- Identify and integrate diverse data sources in line with the enterprise data strategy.
- Ensure data accessibility, accuracy, and security across platforms.
- Develop strategies for data acquisition, archival, recovery, and database implementation.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure seamless data operations.
- Gather requirements and create Data Warehouse Requirements and Design Documents.
- Support business users with scripts, queries, and code to meet specific data needs.
BI & Analytics Enablement
- Lead end-to-end BI architecture—from platform selection to development and deployment.
- Establish standards for business intelligence reporting and visualization (dashboards, KPIs).
- Drive innovation and business improvement through data-driven insights.
Big Data & Performance Optimization
- Plan and execute big data and data lake solutions using Hadoop, NoSQL, Spark, S3, and hybrid architectures.
- Conduct performance audits and proactively address system gaps or breaches.
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance through schema design and tuning.
Experience & Skills Required
Work Experience
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture and management.
- 8+ years in data modeling (logical and physical), preferably with MPP technologies.
- 8+ years of advanced SQL coding and tuning experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or IBM DB2.
- 5+ years in the insurance industry with strong stakeholder collaboration.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in SQL and stored procedures.
- Deep understanding of data and metadata management principles.
- Experience with cloud platforms for data warehousing.
- Hands-on expertise in data warehousing, architecture, master data, big data analytics, and visualization.
- Familiarity with Python, R, NoSQL, and real-time analytics.
