Our client based in Centurion is looking for an Infrastructure Systems Engineer. 12-month contract renewable
Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate operations & information technology field.
Microsoft certifications such as MCSE and any associate level network, virtualization, or storage certifications
Expertise and extensive hands-on experience with installation, configuration and troubleshooting in Windows server and infrastructure services (eg: installing monitoring or security agents) in virtualized (VMware) and non-virtualized environments
Detailed knowledge of, along with experience in, the implementation and maintenance of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Windows 2008 to Windows 2019 servers
Managing server virtualization technologies (Microsoft Hyper-V standalone and Failover Clustering and VMWARE)
Microsoft Exchange (2013 to Exchange Online) setup, administration, and configuration
Experience of enterprise level system monitoring, software deployment and compliance tools.
A solid understanding of Cloud infrastructure and configuring VPN connections to on Prem.
Infrastructure backups
Office365 and Microsoft Azure
Sound knowledge of IT Security principles
Antivirus management skills
Good organizational and time management skills
Ability to communicate effectively with external providers and internal partners, including senior stakeholders
Experience of operating within, or demonstrable knowledge of multi-platform environments
Excellent grasp of good problem-solving principles, and logical judgement
Able to create, maintain, and enhance supporting documentation for the Operations team
Appreciation of the principles of prioritisation according to service impact, and the ability to work under pressure
Good understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP and common network protocols
Scripting skills (eg: PowerShell) and experience working with provisioning/configuration automation and orchestration tooling for managing distributed server environments
Deals well with ambiguity and can use data-driven, analytical problem-solving skills to find solutions
Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills with a strong customer focus
