Application Security Analyst (AI Training)

About The Role

Your application security instincts — built from real-world experience with vulnerabilities, exploits, and broken code — are exactly what's needed to make AI smarter about software risk.

At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models. We're looking for security professionals who understand how software actually breaks in production. You'll work with realistic application security scenarios to help frontier AI systems learn how to assess, prioritize, and remediate risk the way a seasoned expert would.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role — work on your own schedule, on your own terms.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Review and analyze realistic application security scenarios spanning code, APIs, and system behavior
  • Classify vulnerabilities including authentication flaws, injection risks, access control issues, and business logic failures
  • Evaluate secure coding practices and proposed remediation strategies for accuracy and completeness
  • Distinguish genuinely exploitable vulnerabilities from theoretical or low-risk concerns
  • Help create and validate security-focused reasoning datasets that teach AI how to think like a skilled AppSec professional

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in application, product, or software security roles
  • Solid familiarity with the OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerabilities found in real production environments
  • Able to reason clearly about exploitability, impact, and risk prioritization
  • Strong written communication — you can explain security findings in structured, precise language
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience with penetration testing, code review, or security architecture
  • Background in secure SDLC, threat modeling, or bug bounty programs
  • Familiarity with AI systems or prior experience in AI training/evaluation workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top research labs
  • Fully remote and async — complete work on your own schedule
  • Freelance autonomy with meaningful, intellectually engaging work
  • Apply deep security expertise to a genuinely novel and high-impact challenge
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
