Design & Spatial Coordination: Lead the coordination of all MEP systems, ensuring seamless integration with architectural and structural designs to prevent spatial conflicts.
Drawing Preparation & Management: Oversee and manage the preparation, review, and approval of comprehensive MEP coordination drawings (CSD/CBWD) and shop drawings prior to installation.
Technical Review: Scrutinize design consultants' drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submittals to ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
Clash Resolution: Proactively identify constructability issues or clashes during the pre-construction and construction phases, working closely with engineering teams to develop effective, practical solutions.
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact between site execution teams, design consultants, MEP subcontractors, and clients to resolve engineering queries (RFIs).
Quality & Compliance: Ensure all MEP designs and shop drawings comply with local Philippine building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
Site Support: Conduct periodic site walks to verify that MEP installations align with the approved coordination drawings and address any field-level design deviations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in MEP design within the construction or engineering sector.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Technical Expertise: Strong fundamental understanding of MEP engineering principles, system sizing, and interdisciplinary dependencies.
Drafting & Coordination Skills: Extensive, hands-on experience in the preparation, review, and management of coordination and shop drawings.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Experience with BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) for 3D spatial coordination and clash detection is highly advantageous.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues on paper before they become costly problems on site.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Local Knowledge: Familiarity with Manila's local building codes and industry standards.
