They are building scalable financial operations processes to support rapid growth and are seeking a highly capable Finance Operations Lead to help strengthen and optimize their core finance function. This is an opportunity to work directly with senior leadership, take ownership of critical finance operations, and drive meaningful process improvements through technology, automation, and AI.

What You'll Do

Accounts Receivable (AR) & Revenue Operations

  • Monitor and review customer invoices to ensure accuracy before delivery.
  • Manage collections activities and proactively follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Reconcile incoming customer payments across banking platforms and payment processors such as Stripe.
  • Review AR aging reports and drive initiatives to improve collection timelines.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Operations, and Product teams to identify and eliminate billing friction.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to strengthen revenue operations.


Vendor Operations & Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Oversee the weekly bill pay process managed by the external accounting firm.
  • Coordinate vendor communications and internal follow-ups as needed.
  • Review vendor contracts, payment terms, and order forms for AP setup.
  • Identify and flag payment terms that do not align with company standards.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient vendor payment operations.


Process Optimization & Special Projects

  • Analyze existing finance workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build trackers, dashboards, and reporting tools to improve visibility and operational efficiency.
  • Leverage automation, software integrations, and AI tools to streamline manual processes.
  • Lead special projects focused on improving transaction velocity and operational scalability.
  • Document and maintain finance operations procedures and best practices.


Financial Reporting, Cash & Risk Management

  • Support monthly close activities alongside internal finance team members and external accountants.
  • Prepare and organize documentation for annual tax compliance requirements.
  • Monitor weekly cash positions across multiple accounts.
  • Coordinate annual insurance renewal processes and manage required documentation.
  • Support financial reporting and operational risk management initiatives.


What We're Looking For

  • 6–10 years of experience in finance operations, accounting operations, AR/AP, billing operations, or related fields.
  • Strong background as a finance generalist with experience balancing execution and process improvement responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting U.S.-based companies, startups, technology organizations, or outsourced finance functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial operations.
  • Experience using modern finance and business tools such as Google Workspace, QuickBooks, Stripe, Ramp, Slack, Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Demonstrated experience improving manual processes through automation, systems implementation, or workflow optimization.


Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation is a plus but not required.
  • Startup or high-growth company experience.
  • Experience implementing automation or AI-driven process improvements.

What Success Looks Like

First 30 Days

  • Gain a strong understanding of billing, AR, AP, and reconciliation workflows.
  • Take ownership of AR aging and payment reconciliation activities.
  • Support month-end close processes.
  • Document key finance operations procedures.


First 60 Days

  • Independently manage AR and collections workflows.
  • Review invoices and proactively identify issues.
  • Coordinate effectively with external accounting partners.
  • Build credibility across internal teams.


First 90 Days

  • Fully own day-to-day finance operations with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain clean reporting, SOPs, and operational dashboards.
  • Improve billing, collections, AP oversight, and reconciliation processes.
  • Identify and implement scalable operational improvements.
