Job Description
Upper School Math and Science Teacher
Rochester Classical Academy (RCA) is seeking a part-time Upper School Math and Science
teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
The mission of Rochester Classical Academy is to cultivate in students a
godly character and a joyful spirit of inquiry into God and His creation, so that
they can engage the world for Christ with wisdom, virtue, and eloquence.
A Successful Candidate Will Have
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- The ability to sign RCA’s statement of faith without reservation
- A strong commitment to Christian education, with experience at a classical Christian
school preferred
- A desire to grow as a teacher and participate in ongoing teacher training
- An understanding of childhood development and ability to communicate with children
- An ability to foster intellectual curiosity in children
- An ability to teach upper school math and science (pre-algebra and algebra), with the
ability to grow into advanced mathematics preferred
- An ability to teach children how to live in community, treat each other with respect, and
follow age-appropriate classroom rules
- An ability to relate to children as both an authority figure and as a mentor
- A sincere desire to contribute to the life and culture of RCA
- A dedication to discipleship of students
- An ability to interact professionally and cooperatively with parents, teachers,
administrators, and other members of the school community
- A demonstrated Christian maturity and involvement in a local church
- Experience in curriculum design preferred
