Job Overview
The AU Bookkeeper is responsible for supporting end-to-end accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, timely processing of transactions, and smooth month-end closing activities. The role requires strong experience in Australian bookkeeping practices, particularly using Xero, along with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple financial and administrative priorities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) activities, ensuring accurate processing and tracking of financial transactions
- Process supplier payments, customer receipts, and expense claims in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain and update accurate financial records within Xero accounting software
- Support monthly account reconciliations and end-of-month closing processes
- Monitor outstanding invoices and assist with follow-ups on overdue payments
- Enter, update, and maintain financial and administrative data across systems
- Provide general administrative and finance support as required to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bookkeeping, or similar accounting roles
- 1–2 years of Australian bookkeeping experience
- Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with Xero accounting software
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) is highly desirable
- Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively
