A founder-led Australian startup community needs someone who can take a backlog of raw footage and turn it into content worth watching. Creative input welcome - actually, required.
Aussie Founders Club is a community built around what's real in startup life. 1,800+ members on Slack, 3,800+ newsletter subscribers, 20+ events a year, and a podcast. The content that comes out of AFC tells the story of what it actually looks like to build a startup in Australia.
Right now, that content is not being told as well as it could be. There is a backlog of meetup recordings, vox pops, and employer brand footage that needs someone with a real creative eye to shape it into something the community will actually watch.
The role
You will edit long-form meetup recordings, vox pops, employer brand videos, and social content across LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram. You will bring your own creative input to every brief - not just execute it. You will help build the workflows and systems that make the content operation run without constant back-and-forth.
If you also have graphic design skills and know your way around AI tools, there is more scope here - newsletter output, automation workflows, broader content systems. We will load you up based on what you can do.
This is a part-time remote role to start. The rate is open - tell us what you're looking for.
What You'll Do
- Edit long-form meetup recordings into short-form content for LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram
- Edit vox pops, employer brand videos, and Vibrials with strong pacing and visual polish
- Write captions and manage publishing across platforms
- Bring your creative eye to every brief and push back when something could be better
- Build and maintain a brief-to-publish workflow with the team
- Use AI tools to build content workflows and reduce turnaround time where you can
What we're looking for
- Strong video editing skills across short-form and long-form - you can show your work
- A genuine creative eye and the confidence to use it
- Comfortable working independently - briefs in, content out, minimal hand-holding
- Detail-oriented across the whole edit, not just the cut
- Interest in building systems and workflows, not just completing tasks
- Reliable - you flag issues early and you meet deadlines
