ServiceNow CMDB Developer

Job Title: ServiceNow CMDB Developer

Experience: 3-5 years

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled ServiceNow CMDB Developer with 3-5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining CMDB solutions within the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, CSDM, IRE, integrations, and ServiceNow development.

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in ServiceNow development and administration.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with CMDB and Discovery.
  • Experience working in ITOM environments.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

CMDB Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain CMDB architecture.
  • Configure and manage CI classes, attributes, and relationships.
  • Ensure CMDB data quality, governance, and compliance.
  • Monitor and improve CMDB Health (Completeness, Correctness, Compliance).

Discovery & Service Mapping

  • Configure and troubleshoot Discovery schedules.
  • Manage MID Servers and credential configurations.
  • Develop and maintain Discovery Patterns.
  • Support Service Mapping implementation and maintenance.

Identification & Reconciliation

  • Configure Identification Rules and Reconciliation Rules.
  • Troubleshoot duplicate CI creation issues.
  • Work with Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
  • Manage data source precedence and CI lifecycle.

Development & Customization

  • Develop Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Scheduled Jobs.
  • Create custom workflows and Flow Designer solutions.
  • Develop REST/SOAP integrations.
  • Build Import Sets and Transform Maps for CMDB data ingestion.

Integration Activities

  • Integrate CMDB with tools such as:
    • SCCM/MECM
    • SolarWinds
    • VMware
    • AWS
    • Azure
    • Monitoring and Asset Management tools
Troubleshooting & Support

  • Resolve CMDB and Discovery-related incidents.
  • Analyze ECC Queue and MID Server issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis for CMDB data quality issues.
  • Support platform upgrades and testing activities.
