Position Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are seeking a Microsoft 365 Identity & Collaboration Engineer to support and enhance our enterprise identity and collaboration platforms, with a strong focus on Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, and Exchange Online. This role combines hands-on operational execution with a modern engineering mindset, leveraging automation and AI capabilities to improve identity security, access governance, and user experience.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong foundation in identity management and messaging. This individual will not only resolve issues but also identify opportunities to automate processes, strengthen security controls, and use AI-powered tools to modernize identity and access operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identity & Access Management (Primary Focus)
  • Support and administer Entra ID (Azure AD) and on-premises Active Directory environments, including user lifecycle management, group management, and directory synchronization. Assist with Conditional Access policies, MFA, and authentication troubleshooting. Support access provisioning, identity governance processes, and enforcement of least-privilege access models.
  • Work closely with security teams to maintain and improve identity security posture, including contributing to Zero Trust initiatives, identity protection, and compliance-related controls.
  • Messaging & Microsoft 365 Platform
  • Support and administer Exchange Online and hybrid email environments & Microsoft Teams including mail flow, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, and transport rules. Troubleshoot issues related to email delivery, Outlook, calendaring, and integration with identity services.
  • Manage power platform admin center
  • Operations, Reliability, and Incident Management
  • Manage incidents and service requests through ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication. Participate in on-call rotation and support major incident responses. Perform root cause analysis and identify opportunities to improve identity and messaging system reliability.
  • Automation and AI-Driven Process Improvement
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation workflows to streamline identity and messaging operations (e.g., user provisioning, access management, reporting). Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation-first approaches.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, scripting assistants, and workflow automation platforms to accelerate troubleshooting, generate scripts, improve documentation, and optimize operational processes. Apply AI to enhance identity governance, access reviews, and operational insights where possible.
  • User Experience and Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with service desk, endpoint, and security teams to resolve identity and access-related issues and improve user experience. Analyze recurring access or authentication issues and contribute to knowledge base development and self-service capabilities.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience supporting enterprise Microsoft environments, with hands-on experience in Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across identity, authentication, and messaging services.
  • Solid understanding of directory services, group policies, DNS, and access control models.
  • Basic scripting experience with PowerShell is required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Conditional Access, MFA, identity protection, and hybrid identity environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and identity-related security controls. Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
  • Experience using AI tools & developing agents (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude, OpenAI) to improve operational efficiency and automation.
  • Microsoft certifications in Azure or M365 are a plus.
