Position Summary
This role will primarily focus on manual machining jobs while also providing support on CNC operations. The machinist will communicate questions and issues to the Plant Manager and/or Engineers for timely resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain manual lathe and milling machines.
- Support CNC operations as needed.
- Review drawings, blueprints, instructions, or samples to ensure precise production.
- Take accurate measurements to determine cutting or shaping requirements.
- Plan the proper sequence of operations to complete assignments efficiently.
- Monitor production processes, adjusting feed rates and settings as necessary.
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance and address defects as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery.
- Maintain a clean and safe workstation, adhering to all safety standards.
- Contribute to team objectives by completing related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a machinist, with a strong focus on manual machining.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery is a plus.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Knowledge of machine maintenance and repair is desirable.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
