Platform Engineer

6-month AI Governance Engineer contract role with a growing team focused on AI enablement for an enterprise organization.

What & Why:

Our client is deeply investing in AI and looking to add an AI Governance Engineer to their team. This team is building the governance foundation for AI-assisted engineering and they need someone who's actually done this before. As adoption of tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and OpenAI Codex scales across their engineering organization, we need a dedicated owner who can turn that growth into something structured, auditable, and sustainable. This is a net-new role created to bring focused ownership to a space that has been growing faster than our governance has kept pace with. You'll define the policies, operate the controls, and be the connective tissue between engineering teams, security, and senior leadership. The bulk of this work is writing, coordination, and operational follow-through, not coding. You'll own the end-to-end governance operating model for AI developer tooling: from risk due diligence forms and license provisioning workflows to audit-ready documentation and cost controls. You'll work directly with our security team to assess new tools, propose governance policies, and make sure what gets shipped is both practical and responsible.

They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a primarily on site work environment with 4 days a week in office.

You:

You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

• Proven experience defining and operating enterprise governance frameworks in a technology organization, including policy enforcement, compliance processes, and operational controls.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and influence outcomes across multiple teams — including application, architecture, and security stakeholders — without direct managerial authority.
• Experience translating technical governance and compliance concerns into clear, executive-ready communication for leadership, risk, and audit audiences.
• Background in vendor management, contract oversight, or budget coordination within a technology context, with strong written communication and documentation skills.

Compensation:

This role pays between $55-70 per hour.
