Position Overview
Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced
Senior HVAC Inspector to join our Oil and Gas inspection team. This is a key technical role responsible for inspecting, testing, and certifying HVAC systems and equipment on major oil and gas projects globally. You will ensure compliance with international standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and testing of HVAC systems and equipment on oil and gas facilities
- Verify compliance with ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO, and BS codes and standards
- Prepare detailed technical inspection reports and documentation
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and clients to resolve technical issues
- Perform quality assurance audits and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain inspection records and manage project documentation
- Mentor junior inspectors and provide technical guidance
- Stay current with evolving industry standards and best practices
Education
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience
- Minimum 15+ years of professional experience in Oil and Gas field projects
- Demonstrated expertise in HVAC systems and equipment inspection, installation, and maintenance
- Proven track record working on complex offshore and onshore projects
- Experience with inspection planning, execution, and reporting
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of ISO and other International Standards
- Expert-level familiarity with industry codes: ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO, and BS
- Proficiency in HVAC system design, operation, and troubleshooting
- Understanding of pressure equipment, welding standards, and mechanical systems
Language & Communication
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills
- Ability to write clear, technical inspection reports
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Technical Skills
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and inspection management software
- Experience with CAD or technical drawing interpretation preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- ASME certification (e.g., Section VIII, Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code)
- AWS welding certification or equivalent
- API certification in relevant inspection disciplines
- DNV or equivalent classification society experience
- ISO 9001 or quality management system experience
