Quality Control Inspector

Job Description

The Mechanical Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting daily inspection and testing activities related to receiving, in-process work, and final acceptance. Based in either Pickering or Bowmanville, the inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring that quality standards are consistently met, while also collaborating with various teams to support the implementation of quality program activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned work safely and in compliance with internal safety programs and applicable customer requirements.
• Conduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections and testing, ensuring accurate tracking of inspection and test status.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities as required.
• Monitor special processes to ensure compliance.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of work sign-off related to inspection and testing activities.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
• Prepare and/or review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Coordinate project-related quality control activities, including interaction with clients and external organizations such as subcontractors.
• Act as liaison with pressure boundary jurisdictions.
• Ensure preparation and completion of Manufacturer’s Data Reports.
• Verify inspections and tests in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans or QA Manager direction.
• Document inspection and test results as required.
• Ensure proper use, handling, and traceability of inspection and test equipment.
• Identify, document, and control nonconforming items in accordance with established procedures.
  
  

Essential Skills

• Experience in inspection and testing related to mechanical quality control.
• Familiarity with Quality Assurance programs.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Ability to liaise with regulatory authorities and external organizations.
• Experience in document preparation and data report completion.
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CWB Level 1 or 2 certification.
• Security Clearance at OPG - Orange Badge.
• Open to both days and night shifts.
  
  

Work Environment

The work schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday. Day shifts run from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, while night shifts are from 5:00 pm to 3:00 am. Some overtime may be required, with OT available after 44 hours.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
