Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician & Fixture Supervisor I is responsible for ensuring fixture and tooling readiness to support daily production operations. This role manages fixture inspections, preventive maintenance, repair coordination, setup/changeover readiness, and fixture-related quality improvement activities. The position works closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to minimize downtime, prevent defects, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
Job Requirements
- Maintain and control fixture/tooling master data, including status, ownership, and usage.
- Conduct and monitor routine fixture inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
- Coordinate fixture repairs, replacements, and vendor support to ensure production continuity.
- Support production setup and changeover activities by ensuring fixture readiness and compliance.
- Investigate and resolve fixture-related quality issues, including misalignment, wear, and component damage.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and repair histories.
- Drive fixture-related continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and defects.
- Train technicians and production operators on proper fixture handling, inspection, and abnormality reporting.
- Support customer, ISO, and internal audits through complete documentation and traceability.
What Your Background Should Look Like
Education
- Diploma, Higher Vocational Certificate, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in maintenance, tooling, fixture, jig, or manufacturing support functions.
- Experience in electronics, automotive, connector, or high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Experience supervising technicians or leading maintenance activities is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of fixture and tooling maintenance.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance systems.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical specifications.
