We are looking for a technically strong and customer-focused Application Engineer to support CNC gear manufacturing applications across customer trials, process development, machine commissioning, and technical support activities.The role involves working closely with customers, sales teams, tooling suppliers, and machine development teams to deliver optimised gear manufacturing solutions through technical evaluations, feasibility studies, process validation, and machine prove-outs. The position offers hands-on exposure to advanced CNC gear hobbing technologies,automation systems, process optimisation, and diverse gear manufacturing applications across multiple industries.
Academic background :Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Major Preferred :Mechanical Engineering
Work Experience :4-6 Years
Preferred Industry :Gear Cutting Machine tool industry
Main/ Essential Task
Customer &Technical Support
- Support pre-sales activities through feasibility studies, technical discussions,
cycle time analysis, and customer presentations.
- Support machine trials, commissioning, customer training, and process
troubleshooting activities.
Application & Process Development
- Develop and optimise gear manufacturing processes for customer applications.
- Conduct component prove-outs, tooling trials, and process validation activities.
- Support application development for CNC gear hobbing and related gear cutting
processes.
Technical Coordination &Documentation
- Study customer requirements, engineering drawings, and manufacturing
processes to recommend suitable machining solutions.
- Prepare technical documents such as offers, cycle time studies, process sheets,
and application reports.
- Coordinate with sales, design, service teams, tooling suppliers, and customers
during application development and project execution.
Competencies Required
Strong understanding of gear manufacturing processes, gear cutting
methodologies, tooling applications, machine setup, and process optimisation
for various gear components.
- Understanding of CNC gear cutting machines, machine setup, process
Parameters, And CNC Controls (Fanuc/Siemens Preferred).
- Ability to study engineering drawings, customer requirements, and
manufacturing processes for application development.
- Knowledge of tooling selection, process optimisation, troubleshooting, and
cycle time improvement.
- Familiarity with gear metrology, inspection methods, and interpretation of
measurement reports.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer-handling skills with
willingness to travel for customer support activities.
