About Our Client

Our client is the founder of a fast-growing media studio specialising in brand storytelling. The business produces long-form and short-form content across founder stories, company narratives, live shows, and event coverage.

With increasing demand across client and personal brand content, the studio is entering a growth phase and is looking to hire its first dedicated Video Editor to support content production and turnaround times. The environment is fast-paced, creative, and highly collaborative, with a strong focus on storytelling over generic marketing content.

About Our Role

The Video Editor is responsible for producing high-quality video content across personal brand and client channels. This role focuses on editing long-form and short-form content, ensuring strong storytelling, clean execution, and consistent output across all deliverables.

The position involves working across interviews, event coverage, and podcast content, transforming raw footage into engaging, platform-ready videos optimised for social media.

The ideal candidate has a strong eye for narrative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable taking ownership of the editing process from raw footage through to final delivery, while maintaining quality, consistency, and turnaround times.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit interview-style content from events, including talking head and B-roll integration
  • Produce event highlight videos with music, motion, and simple graphics
  • Cut long-form podcast/live show recordings into engaging short-form clips for social media
  • Create short-form content (20–60 seconds) optimised for Instagram and YouTube
  • Ensure timely turnaround of content, particularly for event-based videos
  • Collaborate with the founder on creative direction, storytelling, and structure
  • Work with transcripts to identify key story moments and highlights
  • Synchronise audio and video from multiple recording sources
  • Maintain consistency in templates, styles, and visual branding
  • Organise and manage video files, assets, and project workflows
  • Support client content over time, including short-form branded clips

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional video editing experience
  • Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and narrative structure
  • Proficiency in CapCut (current workflow), with openness to Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
  • Ability to edit both long-form and short-form content efficiently
  • Experience working with interviews, podcasts, documentary-style, or founder-led content
  • Background or exposure to film, media, or cinematic storytelling is highly regarded
  • Understanding of content performance across platforms such as Instagram and YouTube
  • Familiarity with social-first editing styles, trends, and audience engagement techniques
  • Comfortable working with minimal briefs and taking creative ownership
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage turnaround expectations
  • Strong communication skills, with proactive updates on progress
  • High attention to detail, with solid file management and workflow organisation
  • Basic graphic design skills (e.g. thumbnails, title cards, overlays) are a bonus
