About Our Client
Our client is the founder of a fast-growing media studio specialising in brand storytelling. The business produces long-form and short-form content across founder stories, company narratives, live shows, and event coverage.
With increasing demand across client and personal brand content, the studio is entering a growth phase and is looking to hire its first dedicated Video Editor to support content production and turnaround times. The environment is fast-paced, creative, and highly collaborative, with a strong focus on storytelling over generic marketing content.
About Our Role
The Video Editor is responsible for producing high-quality video content across personal brand and client channels. This role focuses on editing long-form and short-form content, ensuring strong storytelling, clean execution, and consistent output across all deliverables.
The position involves working across interviews, event coverage, and podcast content, transforming raw footage into engaging, platform-ready videos optimised for social media.
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for narrative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable taking ownership of the editing process from raw footage through to final delivery, while maintaining quality, consistency, and turnaround times.
Responsibilities:
- Edit interview-style content from events, including talking head and B-roll integration
- Produce event highlight videos with music, motion, and simple graphics
- Cut long-form podcast/live show recordings into engaging short-form clips for social media
- Create short-form content (20–60 seconds) optimised for Instagram and YouTube
- Ensure timely turnaround of content, particularly for event-based videos
- Collaborate with the founder on creative direction, storytelling, and structure
- Work with transcripts to identify key story moments and highlights
- Synchronise audio and video from multiple recording sources
- Maintain consistency in templates, styles, and visual branding
- Organise and manage video files, assets, and project workflows
- Support client content over time, including short-form branded clips
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional video editing experience
- Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and narrative structure
- Proficiency in CapCut (current workflow), with openness to Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
- Ability to edit both long-form and short-form content efficiently
- Experience working with interviews, podcasts, documentary-style, or founder-led content
- Background or exposure to film, media, or cinematic storytelling is highly regarded
- Understanding of content performance across platforms such as Instagram and YouTube
- Familiarity with social-first editing styles, trends, and audience engagement techniques
- Comfortable working with minimal briefs and taking creative ownership
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage turnaround expectations
- Strong communication skills, with proactive updates on progress
- High attention to detail, with solid file management and workflow organisation
- Basic graphic design skills (e.g. thumbnails, title cards, overlays) are a bonus
