Responsibilities
- Conduct chemical and sensory evaluations of food products.
- Apply uniform methods consistently for accurate, reproducible results.
- Perform real-time stability testing to assess physicochemical and organoleptic properties for shelf-life evaluation.
- Facilitate third-party calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
- Calibrate weighing scales, thermometers, and pH meters.
- Monitor inventories of QA supplies, lab equipment, glassware, media, and chemicals.
- Analyze retained samples as needed.
- Use appropriate PPEs and ensure safe handling and storage of reagents and chemicals.
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and proper maintenance of assigned areas and equipment.
- Train QA and Production staff on basic laboratory analysis.
- Repeat tests when discrepancies occur and ensure analyses follow the Laboratory Test Schedule.
- Ensure analyses and tests are done within the specified cycle time.
- Track laboratory equipment usage and maintain accountability for damages.
- Prepare weekly activity highlights and other reports that may be required by Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must be a member of the Muslim community.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or any related field.
- 1 year of experience in Food Manufacturing with direct involvement in quality assurance activities and/or research projects.
- Working knowledge and experience in quality control and assurance covering sampling, inspection, analysis, and total quality management.
- Knowledgeable in GMP, HACCP, HALAL, and Food Sensory.
- Must be able to maintain stable performance despite pressure and willingness to work.
- Preferably have these traits: Planning & Organizing, Resourcefulness, Attention to details, Problem Analysis, Judgment and Decision Making, Dependability, Impact, Professional and Interpersonal Relationship, Sensitivity, Oral & written communication skills.
