They are now seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to play a pivotal role in the evolution of their core platform.
This is a high-impact position within a product-led, cloud-native environment where backend architecture, performance and scalability are critical.
The Role
You will design, build and optimise high-performance Java-based web services and containerised microservices that power a sophisticated analytics platform used by international clients.
You will have meaningful influence over backend architecture, cloud deployment strategy and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable Java-based RESTful services
- Develop and maintain containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)
- Contribute to secure identity and access management (Keycloak exposure advantageous)
- Collaborate closely with data engineering teams on complex datasets
- Drive best practice in code quality, performance and architecture
- Support Azure-based cloud infrastructure
The candidate profile
- 6+ years’ professional software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in Java and backend systems design
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS preferred)
- Strong SQL and database fundamentals
- Experience building and scaling production systems
- Analytical mindset with comfort operating in data-heavy environments
- Ability to mentor and influence technical direction
