Job Overview:

As the Facilities Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing all aspects of facility engineering, maintenance, and infrastructure to ensure the plant operates at peak efficiency. Your role will involve working with a team engineers and technicians, overseeing equipment maintenance, managing energy usage, implementing capital projects, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Your expertise and experience will be instrumental in achieving operational goals and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all facility engineering activities, including maintenance, repair, and improvement initiatives.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance, minimize downtime, and ensure the longevity of facility assets.
  • Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify facility requirements, aligning them with manufacturing goals and objectives.
  • Manage and oversee capital projects related to facility infrastructure, expansions, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facility systems, proactively identifying potential risks, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor and manage energy usage within the plant, implementing energy conservation initiatives and optimizing energy efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and permits related to facility engineering, health, and safety.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and contractors, negotiating contracts for services, equipment, and repairs.
  • Oversee and manage the budget for facility engineering, maintenance, and capital projects, ensuring cost control and timely reporting of expenses.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in facility engineering and maintenance, implementing relevant improvements as appropriate.
  • Closely work with the facility engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Licensed Mechanical Engineer
  • Experience in facility engineering and maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing plant.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and facility requirements, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, reliability engineering, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with building and safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees, contractors, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided facility management (CAFM) systems, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), and MS Office Suite.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP) are a plus.
