Role Description
Department
This role sits within the PS Central Admin Service but will work very closely with the University Estates Department to support the delivery of high-profile and complex development projects. This is an exciting opportunity to help coordinate multiple workstreams that will collectively deliver a significant transformation of the University of York Campus. You will be part of a collaborative environment, working alongside Project Managers, Finance specialists, and Senior Leaders to ensure the smooth efficiency of our development goals.
About The Role
In this role, you will provide essential day-to-day administrative and coordination support to ensure projects stay on track. Your main responsibilities will include maintaining project documentation, monitoring progress, and facilitating governance and finance activities. You will act as a key point of communication between internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers, ensuring alignment with project plans. Additionally, you will manage project tools (such as risk logs and dependency maps), prepare high-quality meeting papers and minutes, and proactively track actions to support the successful delivery of the University’s capital programme.
Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential criteria, which will be used for shortlisting:
- Qualifications: A Level 3 qualification (e.g., A-levels) or equivalent professional experience.
- Professional Experience: Demonstrable experience or training in Project/PMO management or coordination.
- Administrative Excellence: Exceptional organisational skills with a proven ability to plan and prioritise work amidst conflicting deadlines.
- Communication: The ability to communicate effectively in verbal, written, and digital formats with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in using digital technologies relevant to project management and the ability to gather, analyse, and report data.
- Adaptability: A flexible approach to changing circumstances and the ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Commitment to Values: A proven track record of delivering quality service and a commitment to actively championing respect, inclusivity, equality, and diversity
