Job Description
- Monitors system performance, availability, and security.
- Applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Manages user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Collaborates with other departments to determine IT needs and support business operations.
- Monitors and responds to system alerts and incidents.
- Maintains accurate documentation of systems and network configurations.
- Supports audits, compliance, and data protection regulations.
- Develops and maintains scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate routine system administration tasks.
- Coordinates and executes production deployments of system updates, applications, and infrastructure changes while minimizing downtime and ensuring system stability.
- Provides Tier 2/3 technical support as needed.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Systems Administrator Should Have
- At least two (2) or more years of experience in Server and Network Administration and Technical Support.
- CompTIA Network+ (not required)
- Experience with Windows Server and Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat)
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and knowledge of firewall configuration and network security
- Experience with Virtualization & Cloud (AWS, Azure)
- System Monitoring & Management (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or PRTG)
- Proven experience managing and executing production deployments in enterprise environments.
