About The Role

We are looking for a Tech Support Engineer (Java) with a strong Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset to provide L3 production support for large-scale, distributed systems. The role operates in a rotational (Afternoon / Evening) multi-shift environment and focuses on incident management, system reliability, observability, root cause analysis (RCA) and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L3 production support
  • Own and resolve P1/P2 incidents within defined SLAs
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident bridges
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes
  • Debug and enhance Java-based applications and microservices
  • Develop hotfixes, patches, and configuration changes
  • Improve system reliability, availability, performance and scalability
  • Reduce operational toil through automation and tooling
  • Design and maintain monitoring, alerting and dashboards
  • Analyze logs, metrics, and distributed traces
  • Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs and incident playbooks
  • Contribute to blameless post-incident reviews

Technical Skills

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Java (8+), Spring, Spring Boot
  • Microservices architecture, REST APIs
  • Multithreading and concurrency
  • Production debugging and troubleshooting
  • JVM performance tuning, garbage collection, memory analysis
  • Databases: SQL databases, MongoDB, ClickHouse
  • Observability tools: ELK, Splunk
  • Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic
  • Distributed tracing: OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Zipkin

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Docker, Kubernetes
  • CI/CD pipelines: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Helm
  • SRE concepts: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, load testin

Shift & Support Requirements

  • Willingness to work in a rotational (Afternoon / Evening) shift model
  • Participation in on-call schedules
  • Ability to handle high-pressure production incidents

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2–5 years of experience in Java development, production support, SRE or DevOps roles
