What You’ll Do
- Conduct cyber threat and vulnerability gathering, risk assessment and provide tactical and operational threat briefings
- Analyse and perform a risk assessment on vulnerabilities, given environmental, temporal and other risk factors.
- Manage vulnerability remediation projects within the environment.
- Perform event correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the enterprise to gain situational awareness and determine the effectiveness of an observed attack.
- Triage security alerts based on the threat to the organisation and security policies.
- Analyse security threats through open-source and paid tools. Perform forensic activities and work with third party incident responders.
- Educate the business on security policies, standards and what good looks like.
- Engage with stakeholders across various departments to ensure understanding and buy-in for security controls and initiatives.
- Monitor project timelines, identify potential risks or delay, and proactively address any issues to ensure the timely completion of tasks and milestones.
Key Criteria
- Minimum 1 year of experience, with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of cyber threats, attack methods (e.g. DDoS, brute force), and attack lifecycle stages.
- Familiarity with threat intelligence, vulnerability assessment, and analysing indicators in sandbox environments.
- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (ISO27001, NIST, SOCI, ASD Essential 8).
- Strong foundation in operating systems (Linux, Windows) and networking concepts (TCP/IP, OSI, traffic analysis).
- Experience with security technologies (IDS/IPS, firewalls, IAM, email security, DLP) and exposure to cloud/platforms (O365, Azure, AWS, VMware, containers, DNS).
- Scripting skills in PowerShell or Python for automation and investigation.
- Understanding of system security testing, network architecture, and basic penetration testing principles.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and amenable to a 12-month contract.
Work setup:
- Manila (BGC, Taguig): Australian hours (6 am – 3 pm PHT) with a hybrid set up.
