Position Description
We are seeking an experienced L3 DBA Support Developer to provide advanced database administration, development support, and production support for enterprise applications, including CGI’s proprietary IP system, CACS X. This role is responsible for handling L3 escalations, complex database issues, and ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of CASC X database environments. Training on CACS X will be provided, and the successful candidate is expected to quickly gain deep functional and technical proficiency to support business and operational needs.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Database Administration & L3 Support
- Provide L3 support for complex database incidents and escalations
- Administer, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases across production and non-production environments
- Support application teams with schema changes, data issues, and database-related defects
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes
Development & Application Support
- Support CACS X application teams with database design changes, schema updates, and data issues
- Collaborate with developers and architects on database-related enhancements and fixes
- Assist in performance troubleshooting and database stability improvements
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to L1/L2 support resources
Operations & Reliability
- Support database deployments, upgrades, patches, and environment maintenance for CACS X
- Ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance with operational standards
- Participate in on-call rotations and critical incident support when required
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
High Priority (Must-Have)
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL
- Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB
- Proven experience handling L3 database support in production environments
- Minimum 5+ years of database administration and support experience
Medium Priority (Required / Strong Advantage)
- Solid Linux experience (command line usage, system troubleshooting)
- Proficiency in scripting (Shell, Bash, Python, or similar) to support operations and diagnostics
Low Priority / Nice to Have
- Experience with high availability and replication setups
- Knowledge of query optimization and performance tuning
- Experience with backup, recovery, and automation solutions
Other Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently on complex, mission-critical issues
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure in a production support environment
- Experience working in Agile or ITIL-based environments is a plus
Work Setup and Schedule
- Must be amenable to working onsite 3 days a week in McKinley, Taguig
- Hybrid work setup
- Shifting schedule / on-call support as required
