Cloud Security Engineer (AWS) - Remote - good salary + bonus | £65,000 - £85,000
We're working with a rapidly expanding global cloud consultancy on this exciting opportunity. We are seeking a proactive security specialist to design and build resilient, automated AWS environments that outpace modern threats.
This is a high-impact role where you will leverage deep technical knowledge of AWS security services to safeguard critical data. You will be a key player in shaping security policy and implementing DevSecOps practices across a diverse portfolio of cloud-native projects.
The Role
- Architect and build resilient AWS Cloud infrastructures featuring proactive security controls and automated threat prevention.
- Manage and optimize a suite of security tools including IAM, AWS Organizations, GuardDuty, WAF, and Inspector to ensure zero-trust integrity.
- Lead vulnerability assessments and log analysis (CloudTrail/Config) to gain deep insight into security incidents and emerging threats.
- Integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline by advocating for DevSecOps methodologies and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Design and test robust Disaster Recovery procedures to ensure continuous business continuity for sensitive cloud-based applications.
What You'll Need
- At least 1 year of dedicated experience in Information Security with a specific focus on securing Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments.
- Hands-on technical mastery of AWS core services: IAM, VPC, Transit Gateway, S3, EC2, RDS, ELB, and SSO.
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and experience with Container Security (Kubernetes/Docker) is a major plus.
- Relevant industry certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty or equivalent professional accreditations.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
