To maintain, repair, and optimize plant equipment and associated systems to ensure maximum plant availability and product quality at minimum cost, without compromising safety and quality standards.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and risk-free working environment in line with company safety standards
- Perform maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and ensure machines are safe prior to intervention
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimize downtime
- Optimize plant performance through continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all work complies with required standards, including SABS regulations
- Execute maintenance tasks according to standard work instructions
- Identify defects, non-standard conditions, and implement sustainable solutions
- Support operations teams through coaching and technical guidance
- Manage spare parts requirements and maintenance records via SAP
Key Competencies
- Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyze data and identify improvement opportunities
- Knowledge of problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Whys)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Continuous improvement mindset (ATO, 5S principles)
- Ability to train and mentor operational teams
Minimum Requirements
- N4 Technical Qualification or higher
- Trade Test Certificate (Electrical)
- Minimum 2 years post-trade experience (advantageous)
- FMCG/Packaging experience (advantageous)
- Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, SAP exposure advantageous)
- Willingness to work shifts
