Key Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases (2008R2/2012/2014/2016/2019/2022) and Azure SQL environments
Perform database upgrades, migrations, backups, restores, and patching
Monitor performance and implement tuning strategies for high availability and scalability
Design and implement disaster recovery solutions using Always On, Log Shipping, SQL Replication and Geo-Replication
Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and Azure automation tools
Collaborate with development teams to support SSIS, SSRS, and SQL-based applications
Ensure database security, compliance, and access control across environments
Troubleshoot complex issues related to connectivity, performance, and data integrity
Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure reviews
Document procedures, configurations, and best practices
Experience with Azure services: Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure PAAS DBs
Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies
Hands-on experience with backup/restore strategies and disaster recovery planning
Familiarity with cloud migration tools and hybrid environments
Scripting skills in PowerShell and T-SQL
Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks
