About The Role
The JP9347 Systems Engineer will support engineering delivery activities across JIC Systems, Common Item Tactical Data Link procurement, and AUSTIN capability activities. The role works closely with engineering managers and project delivery teams to ensure engineering outcomes support capability delivery and introduction into service objectives.
This role requires a technically capable engineer with strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience supporting Defence acquisition engineering programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support planning and execution of engineering programs.
- Lead and coordinate engineering practitioners and project activities.
- Support engineering engagement activities with Defence and industry stakeholders.
- Assist development of:
- Engineering strategies
- Requirement specifications
- Configuration management plans
- Risk management plans
- System safety plans
- Support certification and contract deliverable acceptance activities.
- Provide engineering advice and briefings to project leadership.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and support knowledge sharing activities.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering recognised under the Washington Accord.
- Minimum 3 years engineering program experience.
- Experience developing engineering plans and procedures.
- Strong stakeholder management capability.
- Defence acquisition experience desirable.
- Tactical Data Link knowledge highly regarded.
