Key Responsibilities

Control System Design

  • Design and release control systems, including electrical drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Configure automation software for greenhouse and controlled environment systems
  • Develop and document control sequences of operation for projects
  • Translate project requirements into engineering specifications

Engineering & Technical Support

  • Support manufacturing, installation, commissioning, service, and quality teams throughout project execution
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues in the field
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Perform engineering reviews, evaluations, and risk assessments

Product Development & Standardization

  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to improve product performance and standardization
  • Support engineering change processes and material cost optimization
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers on technical requirements and product improvements
  • Support ongoing product lifecycle management and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements

Mandatory

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering/Technology
  • 10+ years of experience in control system design or automation engineering
  • Experience designing low-voltage and high-voltage systems up to 600V

Strong Knowledge Of

  • PLC and DDC systems
  • Electrical controls and automation
  • Communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)

Experience With

  • BOM creation and management
  • ERP systems
  • Engineering change processes
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and technical coordination capability

Preferred

  • P.Eng designation
  • Experience with HVAC electrical design and development
  • Exposure to greenhouse or controlled environment systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks

Technical Skills

  • PLC programming and automation systems
  • Electrical system design and integration
  • HVAC and environmental controls
  • Industrial communication protocols
  • System testing and commissioning
  • Risk assessment and compliance review
