You own the accuracy and commercial viability of cost estimates for custom cabinetry, joinery, and interior fit-out projects across residential and commercial scopes. Your work directly impacts bid success, project profitability, and execution readiness by ensuring all estimates reflect real material, labor, and production requirements.

You operate within defined project documentation, reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender packages to produce structured estimates aligned with client expectations. This role suits professionals who are detail-driven, comfortable working under deadlines, and confident in translating technical drawings into precise cost outputs.

YOU'RE LIKELY A STRONG FIT IF YOU HAVE

• 3+ years of experience in millwork, joinery, or fit-out estimation
• Hands-on responsibility for material take-offs, cost estimation, and tender preparation
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings accurately
• Experience working with cabinetry, joinery, or interior fit-out production environments
• Proficiency in Excel and/or estimating software for cost planning and tracking

STRONG SIGNALS

• Experience with CNC processes and production workflows
• Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management platforms
• Exposure to value engineering or cost optimization initiatives

RESPONSIBILITY PILLARS

Cost Estimation & Tender Preparation

You own the completeness and accuracy of all project estimates, ensuring submissions are competitive and aligned with scope requirements.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for cabinetry, joinery, and fit-out works
• Submit tender documentation within defined timelines

Material & Production Cost Analysis

You translate technical drawings into quantifiable material and production requirements.

• Perform material take-offs including boards, hardware, and finishes
• Assess labor, machining, finishing, and installation costs

Documentation Review & Risk Identification

You ensure all estimates are based on complete and accurate project inputs.

• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential cost risks

Supplier & Internal Coordination

You ensure pricing and buildability align across stakeholders.

• Source and validate supplier pricing for materials and hardware
• Collaborate with design and production teams to confirm feasibility

Estimate Optimization & Accuracy Tracking

You improve long-term estimating performance through structured feedback.

• Track estimate accuracy against actual project outcomes
• Contribute to value engineering and cost-efficiency initiatives
