Role Overview

The HR Generalist will serve as the first point of contact for employee HR inquiries and will manage the administrative functions across the employee lifecycle. This role requires a solid foundation in general HR practices combined with practical experience in talent acquisition to support a growing and creative workforce.


Key Responsibilities

HR Administration & Operations

  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Manage the administrative process for new hires (e.g., preparing offer letters, conducting background checks, managing paperwork and tools activation, and conducting new hire orientations) & for departing employees (e.g., exit interview, clearance, paperwork)
  • Employee Records: Maintain and update accurate employee personnel records in an HR database, ensuring strict compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Payroll, Benefits, & Compensation Support: Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs and support payroll processing by providing necessary documentation and data changes.
  • Policy & Compliance: Assist in communicating and ensuring employee adherence to company policies and procedures. Support HR audits and ensure general compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a resource for employees regarding general HR questions, policies, and procedures, escalating complex issues to the Management.

Talent Acquisition & Recruiting

  • Recruitment Support: Manage the full cycle recruitment for various roles.
  • Sourcing & Screening: Create and post job descriptions on various platforms. Conduct initial resume screening, interviews, and manage candidate communication.
  • Coordination: Schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • ATS Management: Utilize the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to track candidate progress, generate recruiting reports, and maintain an active talent pipeline.


Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in an HR administrative or generalist role in US-based or global companies
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in document, spreadsheet, and email platforms, and familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) platforms, job boards, virtual communication platforms (Google Meet, Zoom, Slack)

Preferred

  • Prior recruiting experience (full-cycle or significant coordination/sourcing) for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Experience working within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Manufacturing/Distribution industry, preferably in beauty or hair care.
  • Certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) are a plus.
