We are a custom furniture manufacturing company operating in the high-end furnishings sector. Since 2014, we have built a strong reputation for precision, craftsmanship, and trust, delivering bespoke furniture solutions for residential, interior design, and commercial hospitality projects.
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Design & Sales Support Specialist to support our internal sales and design operations through technical drafting, 3D visualisation, and proposal development.
Role Overview
This is a back-of-house technical role focused on converting early-stage client concepts into accurate technical drawings, 3D models, and structured proposals that support the sales process.
You will work closely with the sales team to translate design intent into manufacturable solutions, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and clarity across all project documentation.
Work Schedule: 36 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM AEST with a 30 minute paid break
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Drafting (Core Focus)
- Translate sketches, briefs, and client requirements into accurate AutoCAD 2D floor plans and spatial layouts
- Develop detailed 3D models and visualisations using SketchUp for internal review and presentations
- Ensure precise spatial planning, proportions, and furniture fit for residential and commercial spaces
- Align all drawings with manufacturing and fabrication requirements
Proposal Development & Sales Support
- Prepare detailed quotes, proposals, and project documentation based on design outputs
- Verify accuracy of pricing, materials, specifications, and lead times prior to submission
- Maintain and update product libraries, CAD blocks, and CRM records
- Support revisions and refinements to proposals based on internal feedback
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with sales consultants to translate concepts into technically viable solutions
- Provide design validation and “proof of concept” support for active opportunities
- Assist in updating drawings, layouts, and specifications as required
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting essential)
- Strong SketchUp skills for 3D modelling and rendering
- Previous experience in a back-of-house design role (furniture, cabinetry, interior design, or similar industry preferred)
- Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in measurements and calculations
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines within structured working hours
