About The Role
The Cyber Engineer will support SATCOMSPO in delivering strategically significant cyber security capability to the ADF. This role focuses on security risk management, systems security assurance, and cyber advisory support across Defence satellite communications environments.
The successful candidate will work closely with Defence personnel, industry partners, and international stakeholders to identify security vulnerabilities, assess system risks, and ensure compliance with Defence cyber security policies and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct complex security risk assessments and vulnerability reviews.
- Review security features of Defence and industry hardware/software platforms.
- Provide specialist systems security advice and recommendations.
- Support development and implementation of security standards aligned to Defence policy.
- Assess information system designs for security weaknesses and compliance gaps.
- Maintain cyber security awareness across emerging technologies and threats.
- Support secure capability delivery within Defence SATCOM environments.
Essential Experience
- Mandatory Defence cyber security experience.
- Strong understanding of systems security, governance, and accreditation processes.
- Experience working within secure government or Defence ICT environments.
- Strong stakeholder communication and technical advisory capability.
- Ability to work collaboratively across integrated project teams.
