What are we looking for?
This position works within the Engineering function to drive efficient, high-quality software delivery through effective testing and continuous improvement.
Skills Required
- 3+ years of experience in Manual Testing
- Minimum ISTQB Foundation Certification
- Agile mindset - embraces fast feedback and face-to-face, real-time teamwork.
- Balances deep work with timely in-person engagement
- A risk-based testing mindset, prioritising testing by impact and likelihood
- Proficiency in testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or similar
- Strong SQL querying skills with the ability to validate data and perform backend testing.
- Experience in testing browser-based and mobile (iOS/Android) applications
- Strong verbal and written communication to work effectively with technical and non-technical people. Comfortable facilitating discussions.
- Effective Problem solver that takes ownership of issues and works "outside-in" - understanding the context and problem before exploring solutions.
- Organised, detail-oriented, methodical and able to maintain focus in deep work.
- A proactive learner who is process oriented and seeks continuous improvement.
- Passionate about the success of the team, product and customers.
What will you do?
- Requirements Interpretation: Translate business objectives into risk-based tests. Validate and clarify requirements with stakeholders, detect and raise discrepancies, seek input as needed, document clarifications.
- Risk-Based Testing: Identify, evaluate, and prioritise risks; focus effort on high-impact areas to protect critical functionality.
- Test Case Development: Design clear scenarios with prerequisites, steps, and expected outcomes; effective and efficient coverage of positive/negative paths, UI conformance.
- Test Execution: Validate functional and non-functional criteria (performance, usability, security). Reproduce and log defects with clear reproduction steps to support timely resolution. Maintain accurate records and supporting data. Support User Acceptance Testing.
- Exploratory Testing: Perform unscripted, session-based exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and unexpected behaviours.
- Traceability: Maintain our library of tests with end-to-end traceability from work items to regression tests —providing an accurate understanding of expected system behaviour and enabling consistent test execution.
- Quality Assurance: Work to Standards, balancing quality, speed, and cost. Partner with Developers and Business Analyst to deliver value from the customer's perspective, continuous improvement and shared ownership for quality and efficiency.
