ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain reliability test equipment and chambers, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and 1st-level recovery for equipment and tester issues.
• Support equipment setup, buyoff, and verification for new tools and reliability testers.
• Able to operate (e.g., HAST, TC, Vibration Tester, Bend Tester )
• Maintain accurate log sheets, calibration records, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Operations) to support testing needs and resolve equipment-related issues.
• Ensure adherence to 6S standards, lab housekeeping, and safety protocols.

As a member of the SSD Quality & Reliability Engineering team, you will leverage your expertise in project and program management, risk management, conflict resolution and quality standards & best practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and engage with key stakeholders, including Program Management, Customer Management, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Engineering, to ensure the successful execution of quality and reliability initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Represent product quality as the Sustaining Program Manager in core teams, ensuring alignment with quality and reliability goals throughout the product lifecycle.
• Accountable for product quality and reliability when product transitions into sustaining phase. Drive activities to ensure that product quality & reliability expectations are met.
• Lead the resolution of quality-related issues during both New Product Introduction (NPI) and Sustaining phases.
• Communicate quality excursions to executive management and core teams.
• Lead crisis processes, driving closure through risk assessment, containment actions, 8D root cause analysis, CAPA, and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with NPI counterparts to ensure seamless product transition into Sustaining, meeting all product, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in new product kick-off reviews and Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRRs).
• Coordinate with other QAPMs/SMEs to share lessons learned and support continuous process improvement across programs.

• Be responsible for Die Prep equipment day to day line sustaining, PM and conversion.
• Able to hands on and provide systematic problem analysis.
• Ability to troubleshoot, analyze complex problems and 5 WHY analysis.
• Be available for overtime work as of when needed.
• Experience in PM and major down troubleshooting.
• Responsible to liaise with process engineering team for low yield triggering.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Technologist, Packaging Engineering to join our team in Penang, Malaysia. In this role, you will drive innovation in packaging solutions while ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance across all product lines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize packaging systems that meet customer requirements and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring a systematic approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in packaging technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the Package Engineering representative on cross functional leadership teams, setting technical direction and ensuring packages are fully characterized, qualified, and released to production on schedule while meeting stringent mechanical, electrical, performance, reliability, and quality requirements.
• Provide end to end ownership of the package lifecycle across design, development, qualification, and manufacturing, driving alignment among cross functional engineering teams, global factories, and key stakeholders.
• Lead global engagement with factories and contract manufacturers to enable robust, scalable, and cost effective high volume introduction of new package designs and advanced assembly processes.
• Partner with Packaging R&D organizations worldwide to define, develop, and qualify next generation and emerging packaging technologies in alignment with long term business strategy and product roadmaps
• Drive enterprise level assembly yield improvement initiatives and package cost reduction programs, establishing best practices and measurable performance targets across supported product lines.
• Own package technology roadmaps, oversee budgets for supported products, and guide the development of scalable packaging infrastructure to support future growth and technology transitions.
• Lead new products through the transition from low volume to high volume manufacturing, ensuring yield, quality, and reliability objectives are achieved. Establish and enforce readiness of FMEA, SOD, Control Plans, process recipes, SPC, and other critical assembly controls prior to high volume production.
• Provide technical leadership in evaluating and validating design options through characterization builds and comprehensive DFX (Design for excellence) analyses, including DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), DFRW (Design for Rework), influencing product architecture and manufacturing strategy at the system level.
