Accountant (Property Development)
Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Salary: RM70,000 – RM110,000 per annum (Negotiable)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Property Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting and financial reporting functions, including project cash flow monitoring, budgeting, financial analysis, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong experience in property development accounting and a solid understanding of financial controls, project billing processes, and Malaysian accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
- Handle full set of accounts and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports.
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and statutory requirements.
- Review and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Budgeting & Cash Flow Management
- Prepare and monitor financial budgets and forecasts.
- Manage project cash flow forecasts and financial planning.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and analyze variances.
- Provide financial insights to support business decision-making.
Property Development Accounting
- Monitor progress billings to purchasers and loan drawdowns.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment for development projects.
- Support project financial management and cost monitoring.
Inventory & Fixed Assets
- Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation.
- Coordinate stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare tax computations including corporate tax and SST.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretaries, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Other Duties
- Safeguard confidential company information at all times.
- Identify financial risks, irregularities, and areas for improvement.
- Perform ad-hoc assignments as directed by Management.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or other professional accounting qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Part-qualified finalists with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a Property Development company.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Familiar with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
- Good understanding of property development processes, purchaser billings, and end-financing loan drawdowns.
- Experience liaising with auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory authorities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proactive, meticulous, and able to work independently.
