Okay for a Start, Hard to Grow Later
I was at CSC for a few years as a Software Engineer. It's a big corporate environment, and it was a decent place to get some initial experience in IT. The work could be interesting, but career progression really felt slow.
You can definitely learn a lot if you're new to the IT consulting world. There's access to tons of internal training modules and a chance to work on large-scale enterprise projects. It's a solid start for development skills in a big organization.
Career growth is tough past entry-level here. Promotion paths for Software Engineer roles aren't always clear, and it felt like you had to jump teams to move up, even if you were performing well onsite. Internal transfers were a hassle, especially within the Dallas, TX office.
Management needs to create clearer career paths and promotion criteria for technical roles. Make internal mobility easier to retain good talent.
