Solid Tech Company with Good Growth Potential

Working as a Network Engineer, I've had a positive experience. The leadership team fosters growth, and there are many opportunities to develop skills in the IT services sector. The company culture is supportive, and I appreciate the work flexibility. While there are areas for improvement in inter-departmental communication and approval speeds, overall, it's a stable and rewarding place to be.


Pros

As a Network Engineer in IT services, I've found a very supportive team here. Our leadership really encourages professional growth and learning new technologies, which is great. The company offers decent work flexibility, especially with our remote setup, and there's a good sense of job security.


Cons

Communication from management, particularly between different teams, could be more consistent. Also, some internal approval processes can be a bit slow, which can occasionally hinder project speed.


Advice to Management

Focus on streamlining cross-departmental communication channels and reviewing internal approval workflows to enhance overall efficiency and project delivery speed.

Growth is Possible, But You Need to Push
Pros: There's some internal movement if you ask for it. I've seen a few people move into leadership or different technical roles. They do offer a small annual training budget, which is helpful for keeping up with new cloud solutions.
Cons: Formal career paths aren't really clear here. It feels like you have to really advocate for your own promotions and development plans. There isn't a structured mentorship program, which makes it tough for new Sales Engineers to get ramped up quickly.
Advice to Management: Create clearer career progression frameworks for technical roles like Sales Engineer. A formal mentorship program would also boost internal talent development in our mid-sized company.

Work-life balance is a real challenge here
Pros: I liked the remote work arrangement; it definitely helped avoid a commute. The team was pretty collaborative on client projects, and I learned a lot about different telecom solutions. There's a solid benefit package too, which is nice.
Cons: It's hard to switch off, honestly. As a Solutions Engineer, I often worked more than 40 hours a week, especially when client deadlines piled up. You'll find yourself logging in late or on weekends more than you'd like. The workload can feel pretty heavy.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage client expectations and distribute workloads more evenly across the team. Implementing stricter boundaries for after-hours work would really help with employee burnout. Maybe hire more staff for demanding technical roles.
