Responsibilities

This position is for School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS).
Conduct routine research for the project under the supervision of PI/Co-PI.
Design and implement data gathering methods, collect research data, and data pre-processing.
Design and implement core and baseline machine learning/reasoning methods and algorithms.
Conduct experimental evaluation of the designed methods and algorithms.
Conduct literature review; Participate in drafting, revising and publishing research papers.
Perform public release of research data and code.
Attend regular group/individual meetings and discussions.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

PhD degree in NLP, AI, ML, or closely related disciplines.
Minimum 3 years of relevant research experience in Natural Language Processing, LLMs, and/or Machine Learning.
A record of publications at ACL / EMNLP / TACL / CL, AAAI / IJCAI, NeurIPS / ICLR / ICML, WWW / SIGIR / KDD /WSDM, or equivalent venues.
Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong experience with LLMs, machine learning, and deep learning methods and toolkits.
Strong experience in natural language understanding, reasoning, planning, and search algorithms.
Interests in LLM factuality and their applicability in attacking misinformation and hallucination.
Fluent in programming in Python, Java, and C/C++.
Highly self-motivated, being able to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
