Do you want to be part of a global engineering consultancy solving some of the world’s most complex infrastructure challenges? Can you apply your engineering knowledge and BIM skills to deliver high-quality structural designs in an international setting? And are you experienced in managing multidisciplinary BIM models across various platforms? Then join us at COWI to take your career further.

Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow

As a BIM Engineer, you will be a part of the team responsible for creating and implementing structural models – primarily in Revit but also includes modelling, preparation of construction drawings, visual presentations, reporting, meetings, etc. In addition, you will work and cooperate with colleagues and project leaders in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and UK. You will work on a wide range of projects - from feasibility studies of world-renowned mega-projects to detailed design of local infrastructure.

Furthermore, on day-to-day basis you will:

  • Prepare and manage structural and reinforcement models (also reinforcement models and detailing) in Revit or Tekla including modelling, construction drawings, visual presentations, and reporting, meeting etc.
  • Manage federated 3D, 4D, 5D BIM models by merging discipline-specific models (road, rail, architecture, civil, structures, MEP) from various software and formats (Revit, Bentley, AutoCAD, Navisworks, open formats)
  • Coordinate geometrical interfaces and technical solutions with architects, engineering disciplines, and collaborate closely with project leaders across COWI offices in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and UK.
  • Develop design solutions for construction documentation across all project stages (conceptual, tender, and detailed design), including automation and tunnel-specific template enhancements in collaboration with COWI BIM networks.
  • Conduct regular reviews of BIM model content to identify and verify inconsistencies, while leading BIM kick-off and coordination meetings, developing execution plans, and collaborating with BIM technicians to resolve issues.
  • Create workflows for exporting 3D Civil and Revit content to analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Navisworks), and use coordination software (e.g., Navisworks, Solibri) to coordinate federated model with all design team members from other disciplines and demonstrate clash reports which must be resolved.

Your Skills Our Team. Together We Design the Future

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve. To succeed in this position, we believe that you are a strong team player, detail oriented, perform well in a time-sensitive setting and provide great experience to all stakeholders.

On top of that, you have:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s Degree in the field of structural engineering / civil engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • English communication skills are required, as the successful candidate will primarily work on UK-based projects
  • Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD with the ability to create structural models in BIM software (must-have); experience with TEKLA, MicroStation/InRoads, Civil3D, and scripting tools like Dynamo and Grasshopper is an advantage.
  • Additional experience in structural analysis, calculations, and design of reinforced concrete structures is a plus
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with lead structural designers and team members to produce construction drawings, including reinforcement and detailing, and assist or lead coordination meetings as needed.
