Mobile Developer (React Native & Capacitor)
The Opportunity
At Talent Aligned, we have partnered with a rapidly scaling, leading Australian remote monitoring company. For over a decade, their IoT devices and cloud platforms have given real-time visibility over vital assets, helping them improve sustainability and efficiency across Australia and the US.
They build rugged, practical products that are genuinely relied on in the field. Now, they need an autonomous Mobile Developer to ensure that experience works flawlessly on a phone.
This is a unique dual-track role where you will completely own the mobile roadmap. You will extend an existing React Native toolkit used by field operations, while simultaneously leading a greenfield project: wrapping their mobile platform into a Capacitor shell, integrating native APIs (push notifications, camera, offline support), and driving it all the way to the App Store.
What This Role Is – and Isn't
We believe in absolute clarity. To know if this alignment is right for you, consider the following:
This IS for you if:
You have personally shipped React Native apps to both Apple and Google stores, can comfortably own the deployment pipeline from build to production, and love the idea of shaping requirements rather than just waiting for a detailed spec sheet.
This IS NOT for you if:
You have only worked on mobile projects as part of a massive native team, require dedicated release managers to handle submissions, or prefer a highly mature, static codebase. You will be extending, partly rebuilding, and occasionally contributing to the core React web platform.
Key Responsibilities
As the sole mobile specialist within a lean, high-performing engineering team, you will:
Own the Mobile Tracks: Take full ownership of the existing React Native codebase for internal field tools, documenting gaps and extending features as operations expand.
Architect the Capacitor App: Drive a brand-new greenfield project from architecture through to deployment, wrapping the mobile website and implementing native capabilities via plugins.
Manage End-to-End Delivery:
Handle the entire submission, code signing, versioning, and compliance pipeline for both the Apple App Store and Google PlayStore.
Shape & Document Requirements: Work directly with the CTO and product stakeholders to translate high-level briefs into clear technical specifications.
Cross-Functional Web Contribution: Keep web and mobile experiences aligned by occasionally contributing features and fixes to the main React platform.
What You Bring
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong track record of self-directed delivery and deep technical capability across mobile and front-end ecosystems.
Required Experience:
