What The Role Is
The candidate will support the planning and execution of strategic communications initiatives relating to Malay/Muslim Affairs. He/she needs to adopt a Whole-of-Government perspective to advance broader national priorities and policy objectives.
What You Will Be Working On
The candidate will support the Department’s communications and engagement efforts, including media relations, public engagement, marketing communications, digital and social media engagement, event management, and stakeholder engagements. This includes working closely with internal and external stakeholders across Government, community organisations and media partners to strengthen public understanding and trust.
The candidate will also be required to monitor the operating environment, analyse public sentiments and media developments, and identify emerging issues, risks and opportunities to support proactive communications planning. To do so, the candidate should be citizen-centric, possess strong analytical and sense-making capabilities, and be able to leverage a range of communications channels and platforms to deliver integrated and impactful communications outcomes.
The candidate should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, managing sensitive issues, and providing communications support for key events, engagements and projects as assigned.
What We Are Looking For
- Interest in strategic comms planning, crisis communications, media relations to stakeholder engagements, with demonstrated ability in developing, implementing, and reviewing comms plans
- Basic to intermediate data-analysis and digital communication skills
- A strong team player with great interpersonal, writing and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to work across teams and with diverse stakeholders including vendors
- Good knowledge of local and foreign media
- Keen interest in current affairs, emerging trends and issues especially those relating to Malay/Muslim matters in the context of Singapore’s multi-racial and multi religious society which requires both English and Malay speaking and writing proficiency
- Willing to work irregular hours including, on weekends and public holidays
- Able to work in a team and under pressure
