What a Ink Process Engineer Does At HP

Technical Design & Process Planning

  • Design complex manufacturing methods, sequences, and assembly processes.
  • Build capacity models, factory layouts, and cost estimates.
  • Create manufacturing strategy and tooling recommendations for new products.
  • Develop operating procedures, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance plans.

Project Oversight & Quality Governance

  • Lead multiple cross-functional project teams through all development stages.
  • Govern the technical quality and compliance of all engineering deliverables.
  • Track overall manufacturing performance metrics and report results to management.
  • Evaluate designs to improve product quality and reduce failure risks.

Operations

  • Manage deep relationships with internal teams and external partners
  • Partner with project engineering to define project priorities and scope.
  • Solve complex production defects and process issues with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Mentor less-experienced staff members to encourage engineering excellence.
  • Establish internal engineering policies using independent business judgment.
  • Deliver professional reports to support operational and strategic plans.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

  • Graduate Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
  • Typically has 5-10 years of work experience, preferably in process engineering and manufacturing or a related field.
