As a Database Administrator, a typical day involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database systems to support organizational needs. This role includes installing database management systems and developing comprehensive procedures to ensure smooth daily operations and timely resolution of any issues that arise. The position requires continuous monitoring and optimization of database performance, collaborating with various teams to maintain data integrity and availability, and proactively addressing potential challenges to uphold system reliability and efficiency.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Oversee the implementation of best practices for database security and backup strategies.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team to enhance overall expertise.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to align database management activities with business objectives.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM AS/400 RPG III.
- Strong knowledge of database architecture, design, and implementation techniques.
- Experience in installing and configuring database management systems.
- Ability to develop and document procedures for database maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization of database systems.
- Competence in ensuring data integrity, security, and availability.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in IBM AS/400 RPG III.
- This position is based at our Chennai office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
