Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails (ROR) Engineer with 6+ years of experience in building web applications using Ruby on Rails and modern frontend technologies. The candidate should have hands-on experience in API development, frontend development, scalable database design, and working with relational databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and API architectures using Ruby on Rails.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs for complex workflows, integrations, and performance-critical systems.
- Develop responsive and interactive user interfaces using React.js, Stimulus JS, or similar frontend frameworks.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database migrations for relational databases.
- Ensure application performance, security, and scalability
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, ensuring robust test coverage using RSpec and Capybara.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, participate in sprint releases/scrum calls, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior team members.
Required Skills
- 6+ years of experience in Ruby on Rails development.
- 2+ years of experience or strong proficiency with frontend frameworks like React.js, Stimulus JS, and Javascript (ES6+).
- Strong knowledge of modern styling frameworks such as Tailwind CSS and Bootstrap CSS.
- Experience working with RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MSSQL.
- Good understanding of REST APIs, database design, Active Record (ORM), and MVC patterns.
- Strong testing practices with experience writing unit and integration tests using RSpec.
- Familiarity with Git, modern development practices, and leading team workflows (e.g., code reviews, agile/scrum).
Good to Have
- Hands-on experience in Shopify App Development (including Shopify Polaris, Shopify Liquid, and React Remix).
- Experience with third-party billing/CRM integrations (e.g., Stripe, HubSpot, Clover, Quickbooks).
- Familiarity with AI-driven development workflows, and container/CI-CD workflows.
- Exposure containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud platforms (specifically AWS); holding certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner is a plus.
