Perform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries and changing the oil to ensure proper vehicle running
Inspect various parts of trucks, including brake systems, wheel bearings, and steering mechanisms to ensure they are in the proper operating condition
Utilize different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, screwdrivers, hoists, and jacks to repair trucks while constantly exercising safety precautions
Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devices such as motor analyzers, handheld computers, and chassis charts to determine how to address problems
Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running properly, diagnose issues, and provide solutions
Replace parts, valves, bearings, and gears as needed, and repair vehicle cooling and heating systems
Measure vehicle emissions to ensure they are within the proper limits
Ensure that parts conform to factory specifications by inspecting and verifying clearances and dimensions
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
At least two (2) years of work experience in this, as a diesel mechanic, or other related jobs
Experience in working with diagnostic computers
Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly
Technical certification or degree
Able to diagnose and repair heavy equipment, prime mover, lorry & van
Able to commit to 5.5 days a week (Monday to Fridays from 8:15 am-5:15 pm, Saturdays from 8:15 am-12:30 pm) with a lunchbreak of one (1) hour
Able to work overtime as needed
with class 4 driving license for test drive vehicles
